Lee County Public Schools Full Time Virtual Registration

Lee County Public Schools will launch a full-time K-12 virtual instruction program for the 2009-2010 school year beginning July 1, 2009. The Lee Virtual Instruction Program (LVIP) is governed by §1002.45, F.S. To be eligible for the program, students must have spent the prior school year in attendance at a public school in Florida or be the dependent of a member of the military who was transferred in the last 12 months (proof of transfer is required) or been enrolled and successfully completed one of the state-approved virtual programs.

On June 16, 2009 the Lee County School Board approved K12 Florida, LLC as the provider for the LVIP for grades K-8 and Florida Virtual School for grades 9-12. Registration will begin on July 1, 2009. After successfully registering at one of the student assignment offices, parents or guardians will need to register with either the elementary or high school curriculum provider as well.

All documents must have original signatures and be submitted to a Student Assignment Office prior to registering online. Classes begin August 24th.

E-mail or facsimiles cannot be accepted.

Lee County Public Schools will notify families of acceptance or denial into LVIP no later than August 20th, 2009.

If accepted, families will be directed to the online registration with K12 Florida, LLC, which must also be completed. Instructions will be provide when notified of acceptance.

Registration requirements are defined below for current Lee County Public School Students and Students Enrolling from a Florida Public School Outside Lee County.

Students transferring from a Public School In Lee County, must submit the following: (Families registering more than one child, must submit the following for each child)

  1. Student Registration Form
  2. Records Request Form
  3. LVIP Program Information / Participant Agreement Form
  4. Proof of residency (current homestead card or purchase contract or warranty deed or lease/rental agreement or current utilities statement))
  5. Families who do not have access to a computer and/or Internet access may complete the LVIP Request for Technology Form. In limited situations, technology and/or an Internet stipend may be issued to the family.

Students enrolling from a Public School Outside of Lee County, must submit the following: (Families registering more than one child, must submit the following for each child)

  1. Student Registration Form
  2. Records Request Form
  3. LVIP Program Information / Participant Agreement Form
  4. Proof of residency (current homestead card or purchase contract or warranty deed or lease/rental agreement or current utilities statement))
  5. Proof of physical examination within the last 12 months. If documentation cannot be provided, a physical examination must be scheduled within thirty (30) days.
  6. Proof of Immunization on Department of Health Form 680
  7. Copy of a Birth Certificate
  8. Copy of the last report card
  9. Families who do not have access to a computer and/or Internet access may complete the LVIP Request for Technology Form. In limited situations, technology and/or an Internet stipend may be issued to the family.
